Cookie & Browser Storage Policy

What is stored on your device, what it does, and how to control it.

Cookies and local storage

Cookies are small values saved by your browser and sent with relevant requests. Local storage and session storage are browser features that keep data on your device; they are not cookies, but they are covered here because they affect your privacy choices. KDOOM uses these technologies for admin sign-in, preferences, optional draft saving, and analytics. When enabled, Google Tag Manager loads Google Analytics, which may use cookies or similar identifiers to measure visits and interactions.

Essential admin session cookie

When an authorised admin signs in, KDOOM sets an HTTP-only, same-site session cookie. On the live HTTPS site it is named __Host-kdoom_session; in local development it is named kdoom_session. It keeps the admin signed in and expires after up to 30 days unless the session is revoked sooner. Public writing tools do not require an admin login. This cookie is necessary for the requested admin service and is not used to follow visitors around other websites.

Analytics and your choices

KDOOM stores your analytics choice under kdoom.analytics.consent in local storage. If first-party analytics runs, a random visitor identifier may be stored under kdoom.analytics.visitor and a session identifier under kdoom.analytics.session in session storage. Google Tag Manager loads Google Analytics only when allowed by the site's analytics setting; Google Analytics may use its own cookies or similar identifiers. The site can run in opt-in or opt-out mode; the controls below let you decline or allow analytics. Declining stops future first-party and Google Analytics measurement from this browser.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control browser signals prevent analytics. Analytics is separate from the browser-local text saved by a tool. You can review Google's privacy information at policies.google.com/privacy.

Drafts, notes, and preferences

Some writing tools and Notepad Pro can store draft text, writing activity, settings, or notes in your browser's local storage. These are there to restore your work on the same device and browser. They are not transmitted to KDOOM simply because they are saved locally. A browser may keep them until you clear them, turn off a tool's auto-save where available, or remove site data. Clearing browser data can permanently erase unsynced notes, so export anything important first.

External content and links

Some pages may show a clearly labelled advertisement or link to an external site. Opening a third-party destination, or interacting with enabled embedded advertising content, may expose you to that provider's own cookies or storage practices. KDOOM does not control storage set on a separate website. Review the third party's policy before interacting with it. We will update this page if the technologies used on KDOOM materially change.

How to manage storage

Use the analytics choice controls on this page to allow or decline first-party analytics and Google Analytics loaded through Google Tag Manager. You can also remove cookies and local storage through your browser's site-data settings. Blocking the admin session cookie prevents admin login, while clearing local drafts or Notepad Pro storage may remove work saved only on this device. Browser privacy signals can prevent analytics independently of the buttons below. For questions, email sitescsteam@gmail.com.
